Dr. Maria Tetelbaum, BSc, MD, CCFP
Dr. Maria Tetelbaum received her medical degree from the prestigious “Carol Davila” University of Medicine, Bucharest, Romania, in 1995. She worked previously as a nurse in Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit. In 2001 she graduated the residency in Pediatric Neurology and shortly after she immigrated to Canada, where she continued her training with one year fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at University of Toronto.
In 2007, Dr. Tetelbaum graduated the Family Medicine residency program at the University of Western Ontario and worked then as a family doctor at St. Joseph’s family Centre and as a hospitalist at University Hospital. She holds an appointment as Adjunct Professor in Family Medicine Department, University of Western Ontario.
In 2010 Dr. Tetelbaum opened her private community family practice at Synergy Centre. She continued her training and obtained certification in aesthetic medical procedures. With her European background, Dr. Tetelbaum combined the science of medicine with the artistry, creating Synergy Medical Aesthetic Clinic, where she offers a fresh, non-surgical aesthetic options, with top of the line equipment and technology.
As a neurologist Dr. Tetelbaum has a comprehensive knowledge of facial anatomy and due to her training in Clinical Pharmacology, she has a deep understanding of the pharmacodynamic of the injectable products she uses in her clinic.

Amanda Cook, RN, BScN
Cosmetic & Therapeutic Nurse Injector – PRP Medical Injector
Amanda graduated from the University of Western Ontario (2011) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has well-rounded experience in public health, mental health, hospital/acute care, case management, and cosmetic/aesthetic injecting.
Cosmetic medicine quickly became a passion for Amanda, leading her to dedicate years of her studies, training and practice to the aesthetic field. However, she still enjoys spending time on the traditional side of nursing. At Synergy Centre, Amanda feels fortunate to have the best of both worlds, as Dr. Maria Tetelbaum has both a successful Family Practice and Aesthetic Practice – Beauty Within.
Amanda has received high level training within the aesthetic medicine field, successfully completing many advanced courses, certifications and attending conferences throughout Canada. Amanda is certified through Allergan® in both the cosmetic and therapeutic (Chronic Migraine, Hyperhidrosis) applications of Botox®, as well as has extensive experience using the Juvederm Vycross® line of dermal fillers. She applies the most advanced injection techniques, including the MD Codes™ approach created by world-renowned cosmetic plastic surgeon, Dr. Mauricio De Maio.
Amanda also specializes in skincare, ranging from medical grade skincare products to skin rejuvenation using platelet rich plasma (PRP) and micro-needling. She provides PRP therapy for hair restoration as well.
Amanda’s genuine passion for injecting and impeccable skill, paired with the warmth and enthusiasm in her disposition make her the perfect compliment to the Beauty Within team.
Amanda is a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario, and the Canadian Nurses’ Association. She is also a member of the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine and Canadian Society of Aesthetic Specialty Nurses.
Mackenzie Thompson, RPN
Registered Practical Nurse Clinician – PRP Medical Injector
Mackenzie graduated from Fanshawe College has been a Registered Nurse for 7 years, and joined our health care team in 2017. She began her nursing career in Geriatric care and has since worked in both mental health and bariatrics before joining Dr. Maria Tetelbaum and Dr. Joel Hommel in Synergy Centre’s family medicine department.
Mackenzie is committed to staying at the forefront of therapeutic innovation and science and participates regularly in continuing education to ensure that patients experience the best technology and techniques available. Working in an industry that is constantly evolving she has enhanced her skillset to provide her patients with the upmost optimal care.
Mackenzie is fully trained in Botox for treatment of Chronic Migraine along with Platelet Rich Plasma therapies for Hair Restoration and Sports Medicine.
Leading a very busy lifestyle, Mackenzie along with her husband and 3 year old son have a hobby farm in Mt Bridges On. In her spare time she trains and competes on the Ontario Trillium Circuit with her horses.
Mackenzie is a member with the College of Nurses of Ontario and Member of College of Registered Practical Nurses of Ontario. Her enthusiastic personality and genuine compassion for others is a wonderful asset for our team .
